Local governments see a rise of 50% in revenues for the first four months of 2017
The performance of many years when the local government units used to linger on only thanks to the state budget is now changing.
Local governments seem to have increased their performance, while the reforms or increase of some fees by municipalities have produced the expected effects.
The data of fiscal indicators of the Ministry of Finance show that during four months of this year, about ALL 7.8 billion have been collected, or ALL 3.7 billion more than the same period a year ago.
According to official statistics, in the first four months of 2016, the state budget has collected by local governments around ALL 4.1 billion.
Currently, the local taxes, the proceeds of which go to the state budget are those on property, taxes on small businesses and local taxes.
But referring to the data, there are two possible analyses: either the forecast is lower than capacity, or local governments have increased their performance.
But in all these years local governments have not managed efficiently their revenues and funds, which was reflected in the revenue indicators.
Meanwhile, the reform for the new administrative division of the country has already entered into force in the second half of 2015, and it is expected to bring changes to planned budgets of local governments.
