Human freedoms, we are the first in the region – Fraser Global Index, Albania 26th among 162 countries for economic freedom
The Fraser Institute, in collaboration with the CATO, has published the latest index of human freedoms, which includes personal, civil and economic freedoms. In this year’s index, Albania is ranked 43rd in the world, among 162 countries, gaining only one position compared to the previous year, as well as being first in the region.
In addition to the countries of the region, Albania lags behind in this ranking countries such as Greece, Poland, Israel, etc. Our country registers the best result in terms of economic freedoms, where it ranks 26th in the world, among 162 economies. In fact, over the years, the improvement in this regard is significant, the report states, already reaching the highest historical record.
The analysis takes into account many indicators, such as: rule of law, security, freedom of movement, trust, civil society, freedom of expression and information, legal system, property rights, size of government, access to finance, international trade, etc. , etc. Data in this year’s index refer to 2018. Globally, New Zealand ranks first, followed by Switzerland and Hong Kong, while Syria ranks last.
