Less money was withdrawn during the crisis – BoA: Cash withdrawals in cash fell by 9.6% in Q2
Contrary to the general perception, in the second quarter of the year, individuals withdrew less money from the coffers of the banking system in our country, compared to the first quarter of the year. For businesses meanwhile, there is a fairly slight increase in cash withdrawals. Thus, the data of the Bank of Albania for the second quarter of the year, speak for about 73 billion ALL withdrawn cash in the cash registers of banks operating in our country, compared to about ALL 80 billion of the first quarter of the year.
The decline is 9.6%, the data show. In terms of businesses, meanwhile, in the first quarter 95 billion ALL were withdrawn, while in the second quarter, 98.6 billion ALL, increasing by 3.78%. So, the data, both for businesses, but especially for individuals, show that the pandemic and fear caused as a result of isolation and severe economic crisis, has not translated at all into uncertainty about their savings or income, by depositors or business.
