How Vuno is changing thanks to comprehensive 36.7m euro tourist reconstruction project
The reconstruction of tourist destination Vuno in Southern Albania is proceeding according to the predicted pace.
Several photos published by the Albanian Development Fund show that work is in the stage of the reconstruction of roofs in Vuno.
Investments in the Vunoi and Dhërmi tourist villages are being carried out under the Community Works IV – “Albanian Alps and Coastal Area Development” project implemented by the Albanian Development Fund and co-funded by the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB), the Albanian Government, WIBF and pertaining local governments.
The project also foresees the construction of public infrastructure on the beaches of Dhërmi and Jalë.
The total value of the project is EUR 36.7 million, co-financed by the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB), the Albanian Government and the beneficiary LGUs, WBIF (“Western Balkans Investment Framework”).
It is anticipated that two-thirds of the cost of the Program will be invested in the Southern Coast area and one third in the Albanian Alps area.
The agreement between the Albanian Government and the CEB for this project was signed on May 21, 2015, and was ratified by Parliament on 2 July 2015.
The project, according to the agreement, started in the last quarter of 2015 and is scheduled to be completed in September 2019.
