3rd phase of anti-informality action to focus on big businesses: Ahmetaj

The Investment Council held its regular meeting in the framework of the fight against informality.

Minister of Economy and Finance Arben Ahmetaj said in his speech that there is presence of informality in many sectors of the economy, while unfair competition and tax evasion are still largely present.

He focused mainly on the third stage of the anti-informality action.

According to him, this stage will focus on the big business, where the primary move will be debt collection.

Ahmetaj also said that during this phase the focus will be on employment.

Ahmetaj also addressed the issue of not declaring the salaries of employees from large businesses.

Regarding the latter, the minister said that a meeting will be held where Prime Minister Rama will be present.

“We will have a meeting with the Prime Minister, where the focus will be on correcting large businesses, inviting them to self-adjust without penalties to expose employee salaries.”
