COVID-19 affects businesses in Tirana – The number of new entities decreases
The COVID-19 epidemic has affected the “life” of businesses in the capital of Albania. Referring to the official data of the General Directorate of Local Taxes and Tariffs Tirana, the number of new net businesses opened in the first half of this year has decreased compared to the same period of 2019. According to the data processed by TV SCAN, it is noticed that for the period January-June 2020, in the capital were opened 2016 new net entities, main and secondary. This figure has decreased compared to the first six months of 2019, where the number of new net entities was recorded at 2663.
Regarding the first half of this year, a total of 3711 new primary and secondary entities have been opened, while another 1695 shutters have been closed. What is noticeable is that the highest number of entities was opened in the first 3 months of the year, and why the blockade of economic life by the pandemic started on March 10, and also the largest number of closed businesses is yes During this period.
