Albania’s foreign trade is returning to its previous rhythms after the shock suffered as a result of the isolation brought by the preventive measures for the spread of the COVID-19.
Referring to the data published by INSTAT, in June 2020 exports of goods reached the value of ALL 23 billion, decreasing by 9.7%, compared to the same period a year ago and increasing by 7.3%, compared to May 2020.
While imports of goods reached the value of ALL 52 billion, decreasing by 2.8%, compared to a year ago and increasing by 16.1%, compared to May 2020.
The trade deficit of this month is ALL 29 billion, increasing by 3.6%, compared to June 2019 and 24.1%, compared to May 2020.
The 6 months balance
In the first half of 2020, exports of goods reached the value of ALL 125 billion, decreasing by 17.7%, compared to a year ago, and imports of goods reached the value of ALL 271 billion, decreasing by 14.6%, compared to one year ago. The trade deficit reached the value of ALL 146 billion, decreasing by 11.8%, compared to the same period of 2019.
