Foreigners doing business in Albania – In 9 months, Italians and Egyptians “raid” the Albanian economy
Over 1800 business companies are registered with the National Business Center in 9 months and operate in our country. Referring to the official data published by “OpenCorporates”, from January 1, 2020 to September, 1892 business companies were registered. But which citizenship has attracted the Albanian market the most? Out of the total number of registered companies, 216 of them are with Italian share capital (partially or fully) making up the highest number.
Followed by 57 companies registered in 2020, which result in capital (shareholders or partners) Egyptian citizens, while in third place are listed businesses owned by shareholders or partners with Passport Republic of Kosovo, with 35 such. There are also 15 businesses where the partner or are citizens with German passport, 12 with geck capital, 4 Indian companies and 4 business companies with shareholder or partner American citizen.
Considering the situation in which the country is but also foreign countries due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it seems that the crisis and restrictions have not affected companies with foreign capital to expand activity in our country. The sectors where they are concentrated are different, starting from traffic, agriculture, wholesale and retail, construction, consulting services, etc.
