Half of Albanians want to leave the country – Balkan Barometer: 49% are thinking of living and working outside Albania

Nearly half of Albanians are considering living or working abroad. According to the Balkan Barometer 2020, 49% of respondents answered “yes” to the question of whether they are considering living or working abroad. 46% answered with “no”, while 5% with “I don’t know”. The rate of 49% of those considering leaving the country is slightly lower than a year ago, when it was fixed at 50%. However, it continues to be the highest rate amoing Western Balkans.

The desire to leave is closely related to the financial situation of the families. Asked about the level of satisfaction with their financial situation, Albanians record the weakest result in the region, with only 27% of them expressing satisfaction.
