HICP rose to 2.1% in June
The prices for consumer goods in Albania are rising once again.
According to INSTAT data, the annual change measured by the Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices in June of this year is 2.1%.
A month earlier, namely in May, this indicator was 1.8%.
“Entertainment and culture” is the group that has undergone the biggest increase of prices by 3.7%.
Then come the “Foodstuff and non-alcoholic beverages” groups with 3.4%, “Clothing and footwear” by 3%, “Transport” by 2.6%, “Rent, water, fuels and energy” 2.2%, “Alcoholic beverages and tobacco” by 1.0%, “Educational services” by 0.9%, “Furniture, household equipment and maintenance” by 0.5%, etc.
According to INSTAT data, the monthly change measured by the Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices in June 2018 is -0.1% from -1.4% in May.
This change was mainly due to the fall in prices of “Health” and “Hotels, cafes and restaurants” by 0.3% each, followed by “Foodstuffs and non-alcoholic beverages” group by 0.2%.
While prices of “Clothing and footwear” increased by 0.5%, followed by “Alcoholic beverages and tobacco”, “Rent, water, fuel and energy” and “Transport” groups by 0.2% each.
There were no changes in the other groups compared to the previous month.
The Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices includes expenditures made within the territory of the country by Albanian households, as well as visitor costs, differently from the consumer price index, which covers only the private expenses of Albanian households carried out internally and internationally.
