Photovoltaic Park in Spitalë, Balluku: Installed capacity will be 100 MW, we will open the auction soon
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy will open the auction for the construction of a photovoltaic park in the area of Spitalla. The news was announced by the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, who said that the installed capacity will be 100 MW.
The scheme to be followed in this case will be the same as that of the Karavasta photovoltaic park, where the state guarantees the purchase of 50 MW, while the rest can be indicated by the company in the free market.
Currently, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy has signed a contract with the French company Voltalia for the construction of the Karavasta photovoltaic park, with an installed capacity of 140 MW.
The organized auction resulted in a preferential price of 24.89 euro / MW, which was considered by the authorities as a record not only in the region, but also in the world. The construction of parks for the production of solar energy has a special weight for our country, which is currently almost entirely dependent on water, while in times of drought it pays millions of euros to purchase energy.
Currently the utilization of this resource is at low levels, as only 8 small power plants have entered production, while the amount of energy produced by them for the 8-month period occupied only 0.63% of the total.
