PM Rama convenes ministers to discuss new gov’t details

Prime Minister Edi Rama has convened the new governing cabinet at an informal meeting in Vlora.
The meeting comes a day after the announcement of the names of new ministers at the assembly of the Socialist Party and is expected to last two days.
The meeting is attended by Gramoz Ruçi, the nominee for the Parliament Speaker and Taluant Balla, the nominee for the Head of the Parliamentary Group of the Socialist Party.
Six are the points that are being discussed at this meeting: the division of competencies, the regulation of 104 subordinate departments, the distribution of ministerial buildings, the preparation of the new legal framework to implement the new governance scheme, the drafting of the governing program and the management of five parliamentary committees by the ruling SP.
Meanwhile, referring to the Constitution of Albania, specifically to Article 67, “the President of the Republic convenes the newly elected Parliament no earlier than the date of termination of the mandate of the previous Parliament, but no later than 10 days after the end of this mandate.”
So, the first session of the next Parliament will be held in the period between September 9-19, thus initiating the work of the new government.
