Support to farmers not just alms, states PM Rama as Albania’s agriculture strategy unveiled
The development of agricultural sector in Albania will bring about improvements and transformations of the economic situation in rural areas.
At the National Conference of Agriculture, Prime Minister Edi Rama said that the government will not give alms to farmers, but will support those who are organized and will also promote the growth of agricultural exports.
PM Rama promised to settle the problem of property titles during his current four year mandate.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Agriculture Niko Peleshi, underscoring the many problems of this sector, emphasized especially the lack of accurate statistics and specialists in the field.
According to him, the national plan for agriculture will now focus on priority areas.
The conference also marked the presentation of the national plan for the future development of the agricultural sector with all its components.
The involvement of the Agricultural University is seen as an opportunity to increase knowledge and resources in this sector as a very important base of the Albanian economy.
