WB: Albania in recession 5% – “If the economy does not reopen in the summer, the contraction will go to 6.9%”
Within a month, the World Bank has revised Albania’s macroeconomic projection, and is now joining the International Monetary Fund, as it talks about a downturn in our economy this year at a rate of 5% of Gross Domestic Product. In the report on Europe and Central Asia dated April 9 this year, the bank spoke of a 1.4% decline in the Albanian economy. The decline is already projected to be convincingly sharper, at 5% in the most normal case, and up to 6.9% in case things get even more complicated.
