Fiscal amnesty law discussed at Economy Commission

The law on forgiving arrears that entrepreneurship owes to the fiscal administration was presented at the Economy Commission, which involves ALL 29.4 billion of unconditional payments.

The presentation of the amnesty law in this commission was made by Finance Minister Arben Ahmetaj, who stated that this initiative will create a relief for businesses.

Minister Ahmetaj asked the Commission to extend the payment deadline until the end of this year, which will help the performance of state-owned companies, especially KESH.

This government initiative comes after numerous discussions and following an agreement with the International Monetary Fund. According to the report accompanying the draft, the total tax and customs debt would potentially decrease by ALL 91 billion following the amnesty.

The value of the tax for used deregistered vehicles, according to data from the General Directory of Road Transport Services, is estimated at about ALL 11.9 billion.
