Albania will lead 2017 economic growth in the Balkans: PM Rama following IMF report
Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted following the publication of the latest report of the IMF on economic growth.
Through a status on social networks, PM Rama says that with its the latest report on the prospects of the global economy, the IMF confirms that the Albania economy will grow this year by 3.7%, from 3.5% last year.
“This will be the highest growth in the Western Balkans and will be followed by another Albanian state, the Republic of Kosovo. Kosovo’s economy is expected to grow by 3.5%, while Montenegro and Macedonia’s economies will increase respectively by 3.3 and 3.2 percent,” writes the Prime Minister of Albania.
The head of government also published what he called “a good news for Albania”:
“Another good news for Albania is the emergence from the crisis of two neighboring countries with high impact on the country’s economy: after many years of decline and stagnation, the Greek economy will grow by 2.2% this year, while Italy will grow by 0.8%,” Prime Minister Rama writes.
