Ample room for improvement in Albanian-Czech relations: Deputy Minister Vladimir Bartl
Czech Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Vladimir Bartl says that economic and political relations between Albania and the Czech Republic are good, but there is plenty of room to deepen this cooperation, especially in the sectors that are considered as a priority by both sides.
Speaking for SCAN Television, the Czech Deputy Minister stated that the sectors where Czech investors are consolidated include automotive, food processing, manufacturing, energy, etc.
“Political relations are extraordinary. I see no concern in bilateral relations and I believe that we also have some room for improvement, especially at the economic level, and we are interested in those areas where the Czech Republic is powerful. So, car industry, food processing, manufacturing industry, energy, mining and extracting industry and also environmental structures.”
According to Bartl, the climate of doing business in Albania has improved considerably, but there is ample room for further improvement.
He also confirmed the support of the Czech Republic for the opening of Albania’s EU membership negotiations.
“As far as I understand, the business climate in Albania has improved considerably, but what you can read especially in the European Commission reports there are still some areas that need improvement, especially the rule of law. The Czech Republic is traditionally supportive of the Balkan countries’ membership in the European Union and we will continue to do so. We will maintain this policy.”
