Belarus, Ukraine tourists flood Albania as visas lifted
The Ministry of Economic Development, Tourism, Trade and Entrepreneurship stated that the lifting of visas with several countries during the tourist season has given its positive effects.
This week arrived in Tirana the first charter with 150 tourists from Belarus, marking the first visit from this country, which is not something typical of Albania.
The company, which is engaged in this venture that includes charter flights during the summer season, also made possible a few days ago on June 9 a visit of Ukrainian tourists.
“Aler Travel will continue to bring tourists from Belarus and Ukraine every week to the end of September. Only from Ukraine we expect this year around 8,000 visitors. While Albania’s challenge is to provide the best quality services,” writes a press release of the ministry.
The latter puts emphasis on VAT cuts from 20 to 6 percent for accommodation structures which is expected to have a positive effect.
However, the challenge for Albanian tourism remains the quality service and extending the tourist stay, something that translates into greater income from tourism.
