Gov’t adopts National Health Strategy 2016-2020

The government has adopted the National Health Strategy 2016-2020 which aims to meet the needs of the citizens regarding quality and access to health care regardless of its financial burden.
The priorities of this strategy are four:
- investing in people’s health throughout the life cycle,
- universal health coverage for everyone,
- strengthening the health systems by putting people at the center,
- improving governance and inter-sectoral collaboration regarding health.
Meanwhile, the Council of Ministers has also adopted accreditation standards, criteria and procedures of continuing education activities for health-related professions.
The draft defines the standards and criteria to be met by a provider of continuing education activities for health-related professionals to be accredited as such, focusing on increasing the quality of continuing education and its alignment with real needs that health professionals have in their daily work.
